Something old, something new! Memory Photo Transfers from 1998....

I hate cleaning out the garage!  The older I get, the more urgent I feel about getting it done.  25+ years of working in and around the craft industry and the fact that I am (have to confess) a pack rat has made for the PERFECT STORM!  You know how they say you play, you pay later?  Well, that is what it feels like!

Another hazard of cleaning out is that you will always find hidden treasures from long ago.  Well, it doesn't really seem that long ago; but it is an entire lifetime to someone born in the 1990's.  But, I regress.......

In cleaning out; I came across a box of craft books from the past that I had forgotten about doing.  In the late 1990's it became the craze for a while to photo transfer onto fabric and on everything!  We had vests, quilts, memory books, you name it!  If you could get fabric on or around it; it could get a photo transfer!

The following are a few of the designs that I felt would still be worthy of crafting and reminded me that it was kind of fun.  I went through old family photos for most of the projects.  In case you didn't already know; I was a kid in the 50's and the photo on the blue album was someone I didn't know from my Grandma's old photos.  It was half of the fun picking through them all.

So, the following are some of the projects from the book.  It was called Photo Transfer, Pretty As A Picture by Hot Off the Press, copyright 1998.

That is a picture of my little sister from that era.  She would probably kill me if she knew I put it on the blog.  Oh, well.

Well, that is it.  Hope you enjoyed looking at some designs from years gone by.  The book they were published in is now a memory for me!

Hope you are having a groovy day!

Take time to enjoy the small blessings along the way and
Live Life with a Flourish!

  1. I love your new blog header! really pretty... and I bet this was a great book to own. I have always had a fascination with transferring photos to anything... fabric, wood, clothes, etc. I wish I would have discovered that book back then! Was it really 25 years ago (1990)????? no way!

    1. Thank you, Marilyn! I needed a blog change. I still have my other one. It is marilyngossett.blogspot.com. This one has designs added to my name.

I just happen to have a photo transfer book with your name on it if you want one. I am pretty sure there are more out there where I found that one! This particular book was published in 1998. My first book was finished in 1990, published in 1991. Hard to believe it was that long ago!
