Magnetic School Locker Decor

School is back in session and everyone is getting their team spirit on!  I wasn't much for athletics when I was in school.  My daughter tried many sports; but she is an artist like her mom.  That is how we roll.

This magnetic pennant is a fun way to add a little school spirit to a locker.  A fun touch would be to embellish it with a little mirror.  If you have boys, this embellishing may not be what floats their boat!
The deflecto magnetic sheeting can be cut into any shape.  That is what makes it so fun to craft with!

The magnetic sheeting can be trimmed to fit the mat for an electronic cutting machine.
You will need to set the cutting pressure on high and use a deep cutting blade to cut through the magnetic sheeting.  Remove the sheet from the mat and work it back and forth to punch out the shapes.

The following is a close-up view of the embellishing on the pennant.  Let your imagination be your guide!

Something old, something new! Memory Photo Transfers from 1998....

I hate cleaning out the garage!  The older I get, the more urgent I feel about getting it done.  25+ years of working in and around the craft industry and the fact that I am (have to confess) a pack rat has made for the PERFECT STORM!  You know how they say you play, you pay later?  Well, that is what it feels like!

Another hazard of cleaning out is that you will always find hidden treasures from long ago.  Well, it doesn't really seem that long ago; but it is an entire lifetime to someone born in the 1990's.  But, I regress.......

In cleaning out; I came across a box of craft books from the past that I had forgotten about doing.  In the late 1990's it became the craze for a while to photo transfer onto fabric and on everything!  We had vests, quilts, memory books, you name it!  If you could get fabric on or around it; it could get a photo transfer!

The following are a few of the designs that I felt would still be worthy of crafting and reminded me that it was kind of fun.  I went through old family photos for most of the projects.  In case you didn't already know; I was a kid in the 50's and the photo on the blue album was someone I didn't know from my Grandma's old photos.  It was half of the fun picking through them all.

So, the following are some of the projects from the book.  It was called Photo Transfer, Pretty As A Picture by Hot Off the Press, copyright 1998.

That is a picture of my little sister from that era.  She would probably kill me if she knew I put it on the blog.  Oh, well.

Well, that is it.  Hope you enjoyed looking at some designs from years gone by.  The book they were published in is now a memory for me!

Hope you are having a groovy day!
